How to connect Wii to an LCD monitor

A lot of people have been trying to do this, so here's how! This video shows how to connect a Wii to an LCD monitor using the HD Box Pro converter. The HD Box Pro offers a selection of aspect ratios, picture controls, and supports popular console resolutions like 480p and 576i. You'll have to excuse the auto-focus on my camera...it went nuts with the infra-red lights on the Wii sensor-bar.

US $2.56

and wherte do you get generic stuff
hey with this (the HD box) can i hook my computer up to my tv
It’s $55 dollars american
were does the audio come from the converter box.
how much in dollars?
HD Box looks like a bigger version of the IPod Shuffle. Thumbs Up if you think so
but is the quality HD?
I mean 480p or 480i ?
If it’s quality you want, you should get a scaler, they are only £1,000
You should be able to get a RGB to HDMI/DVI/VGA converter cable, and that should indeed be cheaper. And running the signal through a component cable just makes the quality a bit worse
thanks for posting this, helpful. God bless
I have seen some folks with widescreen LCDs use the Vdigi style cables in widescreen mode. I guess it all depends on how your monitor handles 480p.. but if the Wii output 720×480 and not 640×480 I guess it would be fine.. I’m about to order a cable and find out . I would get the HD Box Pro but I’m trying to do this on the cheap!
Also be sure to change from 480i to 480p in the Wii settings, if that option is available.
thanks very helpful
how does the sound work
plz answer
is in the hd box pro or?
whats the button on your moniter that you pressed?
@krispsa yes
can I use this HD box to connect a ps2 slim to ta tft monitor?
Sorry if this question has already been answered, but does the HD Box contribute to the notorious input lag issue?
why do u use the box and not only the cable? wii supports VGA.
note the HDBox isnt HD (high definition)
I attached my video as a response. I reviewed the HIGH-BOX component to VGA adapter.
@rumblyblu no colour means you’re either plugging it into the wrong sockets or you’re using the wrong type of cable.
i connect the wii to my tv but its not in colour :S so i have to use it on my tv down stairs but the down side to that is that i cant use it all the time because my family watch tv. and also when i try to connect the wii to my tv there is a thing in the way so i cant plug it in, so i have to use the serperate cables, that is what i think the problem is.
@DoctorEggmanNega No, the models are rendered at a higher resolution and by texture filtering I mean like antistropic instead of bilinear. Making it clearer, and you can quadrouple the size of the textures and resize them to get get smoother textures too, but that’s not possible in dolphin yet/
@highestsettings Okay, so for texture filtering, you can make it look blurrier or smudgier, possibly resulting in something smoother-looking, but you can’t litterally make the image higher-res unless you yourself hacked and went in to completely redo it from scratch.
what do you think about the xcm 1080p vga box? should i buy it to display the wii signal on my monitor? (i found it at a low price, somewhere around 33$, used) Should i buy it?(I don’t think i can afford anything else..)
