We don’t think we’re over-reaching when we say that this device, Sungworld’s just-unveiled 7-inch, Android touchscreen MID looks a bit… well, Apple-ish, and we hear that the UI (which we haven’t yet seen in action) will take cues from the company as well. Regardless, this thickish-looking puppy will boast an ARM926 CPU, 128MB of memory, 2GB of storage, and two USB ports. It’s also supposedly going to be available in pink, blue, green, purple and black, and though we don’t know pricing yet, we assume that if that tablet we’ve heard so much about in recent weeks fails to materialize next Wednesday, well… okay, this won’t be a great stand-in. Sorry.

You need to first uninstall your monitor drivers. Right click on My Computer, choose properties, click on the Hardware Tab, and then choose device Manager. After that look for the monitor category click the plus sign and right click to uninstall everyone listed under the plus sign that is now a minus sign.

Don't buy a mac. There are closed-minded mac fanboys all throughout Yahoo Answers who will try to get you to buy one. The included software isn't much and could be bought or downloaded on Windows for between free or one or two hundred (depending on how much you actually want). Hundreds more programs or devices work on Windows but not on macs. The cheapest macbook, at $1000, is a really small, weak computer, whereas a pc for the same price is a better value for the hardware. All macs are really overpriced. When I see somebody with a mac, I typically think of a person who doesn't know how to use a computer. They're mostly only bought because they're trendy and they get worse every day. It takes Apple up to three months to make system updates, which makes them very vulnerable to viruses, which they don't have much protection at all to in the first place. Hundreds of new viruses are expected to be made by the end of 2010 and Apple is totally unprepared. It's also common conception that they have amazing battery life (they don't), that they don't crash (they do–often they don't recover from their crashes) and when you have a hardware or OS problem, you often have to replace the entire thing. There's a lot more reasons not to get a mac, but I think that the HP touchscreens look really cool. I've seen videos online of demonstrations of them online and they're as fast as any other laptop as well as really responsive.

The best places to start would be Instructables.com and Make Magazine. I believe that they've both featured a touchscreen device in the past.
If you want to make it touch sensitive like an iPhone, then find an electronics surplus store and start to scrounge around there if it's local. If not, try HSC since they have a catalog you can download as a pdf.
If you want to go older school and just prototype something you could use a matrix of photo optic light sources and receivers and plot x,y coordinates to interface with your system.
As far as an OS, you're going to need something to run the HTML in so I'd look to Puppy Linux or some other small distro that you could easily embed. There was also uC Linux that was a project a while back but I don't know how that's progressed, if at all but it was for embedded devices so that might fit the bill for you nicely.
There's also EyeOS ( I think that's the name ) that runs as sort of a cloud network but I'm not all that familiar with it so you're on your own with that one, sorry.
Now, if you do something that actually makes you money using the above, have the decency to buy me a soda to say thanks.

I had a lot of water retention with it I switched to N02 and have had much better results
